Analysis of Headhunters
The 2011 Norwegian-swedish action thriller 'Headhunters' directed by Morten Tyldum, based on the 2008 Novel by Jo Nesbø is about a famous headhunter in Norway called Roger Brown (Askel Hennie) who is also a secret art thief with his friend Ove Kjikerud (Elvind Sander). The secret business the pair have going is what maintains and supports Rogers lavish lifestyle for him and his glamorous wife Diana Brown (Synnøve Macody Lund). When Diana opens her very own art gallery Roger is introduced to a man called Clas Greve (Nikolj Coster-Waldau) who claims to own a very expensive painting left by his grandmother, little did Roger know that it was all a trap and Clas knew what he was up to. Roger saw the attraction between Clas and his wife as his only threat as Roger was really self consious and despised his height and realised he had competition when he found Dianas phone by Clas's bed when of course Rodger set off to get the painting described by the pair, not realising it was completely worthless, and not realising the destruction he had now caused upon himself and the greater threat Clas now was excluding the affair between him and rogers wife. Clas was trained in tracking people and began to hunt Roger like a fox entailing a journey of death and fear.
The film is very graphic and shows love, portrayal, greed and dark humour. It has many plot twists which is good as you do not expect what happens next and are kept intrigued of what is in store for Roger and anyone that comes close to him. Although this film has subtitles it is very easy to understand what is going on which is usually hard for me which made my enjoyment of the film surprising, however it was a very good film as you get to understand the characters and their lifestyles in detail which makes you feel personal empathy for them. However if the film was in english you would be able to see more of the shots and backgrounds as most the time you had to focus on reading what was going on. Overall the film was very good and i would watch it again as it created suspense, excitement and fear.
Charlotte well done for completing this analysis of Headhunters. The first part really reads as more of a review with spoilers opposed to an analysis. In the second paragraph you explain how you felt about the film. The task was really for you to explore the films genre as it relates to your coursework and analyse the elements that could work within your coursework. Please could you review this draft and resubmit it.
